Final Year Project

A compilation of contributions I made for my team, DDGG_06, for our Final Year Project

When tasked to design a game in relation to the Singapore Naval Museum, we went through many iterations for game concepts until we settled on this:

"Naval Patrol SG is a 2D top-down quiz game, where players are tasked to explore the Singapore Navy Museum in real-life to answer the questions they encounter.

By answering them correctly, they earn points and a chance to find collectable cards that give a detailed look into unique naval vessels."

As my main role was the team's Game Programmer, most of my major contributions went into the development of the game itself, ensuring our planned mechanics and features were implemented with little to no bugs involved.

To ensure my scripts functioned properly, I built up the game's UI as I went, with many of the original wiremaps ending up in the final product with only slight adjustments based on the feedback from my team.

While most scripts had been based off of previous assignments and my knowledge on C#, the two I've listed below took a lot of trial and research, as I either lacked knowledge or wasn't confident in some of the sections they contain.

QuizManager Script:
This Script was responsible for getting the question data, displaying information in the quiz ui, and randomising which button had the right answer.

GameManager Script:
This Script was responsible for handling the inventory system, cycling and collection of collectable cards seen in the game.
